Okay, this is the video that I wanted people to see. It was sent to me by my friend Deb. It's kinda long - about 7 minutes - so be prepared for that. But, I just think this is
very interesting! And deserves some attention. I'd like to thank dear Ms. Bombadee for helping me out with the whole Video Egg thing (which wouldn't work for this, thus the link). So, take a minute, er, 7 minutes, and sit back and ponder. This
video is called EPIC.
And this has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I find it amazing. Utterly amazing.

Damn Blogger is giving me hell tonight. I just sent you a comment and it's gone now. Anyway, what I WANTED to say is that your video link was VERY intriguing. I'm sending the link to hubby 'cause it's quite the conversation piece. Thanks for sharing!!
Cameo,
Thanks for your comments! Careful with the praise, though--too much and you're going to turn me into a fawning schoolboy with a crush ( I only say that in the nicest, most platonic, non-leering scumbag way possible ) :-)
I've got about two years left on my contract, at least one of which will be spent "downrange" (read: in Iraq). It's not so much the Army I dislike; rather, I think that I simply need to find a career-field within the military that might stimulate me more. I'll be sure to go check out this video though, and I hope to hear from you again soon.
Wow, that was a really cool video. Sorry Video Egg didn't work out.
That was a great video. I don't watch a 7 minute video for just anyone, y'know!
It was intriguing and very scary. What scares me more is that mainstream papers are already ineffective and reporters don't do their jobs.
I use amazon way too much, but I find the tracking creepy. Ditto for the "find the satellite view of your house".
That dog is beautiful.
The video was good but OMG the size of that DOG!!! I thought my 70-pounder was huge. That isn't photoshop??
Now I have to go chastize spotted elephant for saying reporters don't do their jobs.

Thank you! A darkly enlightening seven minutes...to me this is Orwell meets Bradbury meets armageddon meets the Langoliers...really sobering. we are truly opening Pandora's Box...
This freaked me out (the video and the photo). ;)
Cam,
At first, I didn't catch your reference to Salinger, so I went and read the story in question.
My response to your query is thus: I dunno. Am I? I certainly identify with the character of Teddy, and see a lot of his childhood in my own. But if your question is regarding any mystical pretensions I may hold, then no, I'm certainly not. In any case, I am what I am, and I prefer to let other judge accordingly.
I'd love to post a photo of us, but I admit, I feel less than comfortable in doing so. I take great care to protect my blog and avoid compromising my identity, but we'll see.
Wow...that was pretty heavy. Where the hell did you find that?
catherine - glad you enjoyed! hope the conversation with the hubby was a good one.
jenny - thanks for all your help. i'm just hopeless at times, that's all.
spotted elephant - i love the fact you watched this! i feel real special, i do.
sue - i think the photo is real. if not, it's a damn good job!
shannon - yup! this is a little scary.
bridgermama - freaks me out too, that's why i posted it. thought we all could use a good freak about this.
iz - my friend deb sent this to me. she lives in seattle and is one of the coolest chicks i know. don't know how she got it, but she knows i'm a little resistant to technology - thus my ignorance and your constant help ;)!
